Internship positions in the Policy and Enabling Services Unit at the Security Division of WFP HQ Rome, Italy is now open for applications.

WFP Security identifies, assesses, and manages all security risks that affect personnel, assets, or program delivery. As a key actor in the United Nations Security Management System (UNSMS), WFP leverages partnerships, digital innovation, and local resources within a clear framework of accountability.

The Security Division is seeking to recruit an intern to support the Policy Section. The objective of the Security Division’s internship program is to develop and prepare young talent by providing opportunities for candidates to gain work experience (remotely), expand knowledge, refine career goals, and build professional networks, including mentors and valuable contacts. The interns will learn to work in a dynamic team supporting the division in policy-related matters.

The Security Division invites qualified candidates to apply for the internship program. This opportunity is available in the Division’s Policy and Enabling Services Section.

The intern will perform the following duties:

• Conduct research as required for the policy review and development
• Support the review of official documents, guidelines, concepts
• Attend virtual meetings and keep a record of key points discussed.
• Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and background documents
• Support other tasks as required.

Eligibility for 2023 World Food Programme Internship

1. Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate programme from a recognized university OR recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate programme (within six months prior to the application to the internship programme) from a recognized university.
2. Must have attended university courses in the past 12 months.
3. Must have computer literacy in standard software applications.
4. Must have an excellent command of English.
