Interns will work under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.

Responsibilities

Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual’s background; the intern’s assigned office as well as the internship period. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide support for computer information systems, website and applications;
  • Install computer application systems software and hardware;
  • Perform troubleshooting for various applications;
  • Assistance during conferences;
  • Compiling statistics;
  • Administrative support

Qualifications for Intern – Information Systems

Education

To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Program, the following conditions must be met:

  • Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

(a) be enrolling in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);

(b) Likewise, be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent); or

(c) Also, have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one year period of graduation;

  • Be computer literate in standard software applications;
  • Also, have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter
