International Rescue Committee Resettlement, Asylum and Integration Department in San Diego call application for Asylum Seeker Support intern.
The intern position will work at IRC Office in City Heights and other field locations with a commitment for a minimum of three months. The internship will be on a part-time basis and unpaid. Basically, the Asylum Seekers Support Intern will help newly arrived people seeking asylum who are facing significant barriers to connecting to appropriate services in IRC San Diego Safety and Wellness Unit. Furthermore, the position reports directly to the Wellness and Gender Equity Supervisor or Caseworker TBD.

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a global humanitarian aid, relief, and development nongovernmental organization. Founded in 1933 as the International Relief Association, at the request of Albert Einstein, and changing its name in 1942 after amalgamating with the similar Emergency Rescue Committee, the IRC provides emergency aid and long-term assistance to refugees and those displaced by war, persecution, or natural disaster. Moreover, IRC is currently working in about 40 countries and 26 U.S. cities where it resettles refugees and helps them become self-sufficient. It focuses mainly on health, education, economic wellbeing, power, and safety.
