The World Resources Institute India calls applications for the Internship program on Urban Transport and Road Safety. This position is suitable for a hardworking entry-level architect/urban designer to intern with our Urban Transport & Road Safety team in Mumbai. This individual will primarily perform research activities on urban street design projects and will work closely with his/her supervisor.

Main Duties 

The ideal appointee will be

• Performing desk research about urban transport policies.
• Conducting extensive site surveys and mapping exercises under the guidance of the supervisor. Similarly, conducting and coordinating primary & secondary surveys and accident data collection.
• Performing design tasks, plans preparation, report & presentations as well as calculations for various urban transportation and road safety projects.
• Also, performing cost estimates, quantity estimates, and specifications.
• Checking calculations, reports, and drawings.
• Furthermore, the candidate will troubleshoot barriers to progress and identify opportunities for rapid success.

Requirements 

Candidates must have the following qualifications to be eligible for this internship at World Resources Institute India

• Candidates must be pursuing a master’s degree in Urban Design with graduation in architecture from a recognized university/institution. However, a bachelor’s in Architecture can also apply.
• Familiar with primary surveys, design of roads, intersections, accident data collection & analysis, etc.
• Urban traffic safety viz., pedestrian and vehicular safety.
• Strong organizational and verbal and written communication skills. Similarly, excellent academic performance and strong analytical capability.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly both orally and in writing, with excellent demonstrated skills in English.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented; experience managing complex processes or projects.
• Also, strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to build a strong network of professional relationships.
• Comfort working with the staff at all levels of experience.
• Furthermore, the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and to juggle multiple assignments with little supervision.
