The United Nations is seeking an Archives Assistant to join the Archives and Records Management Section (ARMS) in the Facilities and Commercial Activities Service (FCAS). The Archives Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative and technical support to the ARMS team. This includes tasks such as processing incoming and outgoing records, managing the archives database, and providing assistance to researchers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of archives management principles and practices. They will also have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative and technical support to the ARMS team
  • Process incoming and outgoing records
  • Manage the archives database
  • Provide assistance to researchers
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in archives management, library science, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in archives management or a related field
  • Excellent knowledge of archives management principles and practices
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Fluency in English (oral and written)
