The University of California calls application for Postdoctoral Scholar Shi Lab: Cell Biology & Imaging. Xiaoyu Shi’s lab at the University of California, Irvine, is looking for highly motivated, and talented postdoctoral fellows to fill two postdoc positions. Competitive candidates should be interested in any of the following areas: super-resolution microscopy, structural biology, cell signaling, live-cell imaging, single-particle tracking, microfluidics, single-cell sequencing, proteomics, computational imaging, biochemistry, biophysics, and protein engineering.

Duties

This Postdoctoral Scholar at University of California Irvine will do the following duties

• The primary job function for the postdoc position in super-resolution microscopy is to conduct research in the area of super-resolution microscopy in the lab. This includes (a) taking a primary role in ongoing super-resolution microscopy development projects; (b) leading or participating in projects on imaging-based single-cell multi-omics.
• The primary job function for the postdoc position in cell biology is to conduct research in structural biology and cell signaling in the lab. This includes a) leading projects on the structural study of nuclear periphery, chromatin organization, and other cellular organelles using super-resolution microscopy; b) leading or participating in projects on Hedgehog signaling pathway; c) generating stable cell lines for his/her projects.

Funding 

Postdocs in the Shi Lab will receive financial support for one national or international meeting per year, and unlimited local meetings. The UCI campus offers numerous training programs and workshops for postdocs in leadership building, teaching skill enhancement, career development, and early career fellowship application. The PI fully supports postdocs to attend these events and will help with their networking and fellowship application.
