Duties and Accountabilities for Regional Industry Manager
- Develop and execute the strategy for IFC’s INR investment activities in northern LAC, in collaboration with regional teams and WBG colleagues.
- Coordinate and support IFC’s Upstream and Advisory services to implement the INR strategy.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, leading multidisciplinary teams to turn leads into high-impact transactions.
- Lead business development efforts, ensuring client satisfaction, program delivery, and profitability targets.
- Manage profitability and revenue for the INR business, ensuring long-term financial sustainability.
- Oversee transaction management, provide investment guidance, and ensure quality control across teams.
- Collaborate with various departments to expand IFC’s business and identify joint venture opportunities.
- Share lessons from the portfolio to enhance strategy development and business decisions.
- Monitor risk, profitability, and development impact of the portfolio, optimizing capital usage.
- Ensure compliance with financial, environmental, and social standards.
- Lead and manage the LAC INR team, contributing to the regional and global leadership teams.
- Mentor and develop staff, providing HR and administrative oversight.
Selection Criteria:
- Master’s degree in business, finance, or a related field.
- At least 12 years of experience in financing/investing in the real sector (INR and/or MAS).
- Proven track record in sourcing, structuring, and processing complex investments while developing strong client relationships.
- Strong business development skills and client service orientation.
- Strategic thinking and innovative solution development to drive IFC’s business growth.
- Expertise in portfolio/asset management, including loan, equity, and guarantee supervision, and asset restructuring.
- Ability to work in a matrix environment, meeting deadlines and achieving team goals.
- Experience in managing and developing teams.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal).
