Regional Industry Manager, INR, LAC1 – World Bank | Bogota, Colombia

The Regional Industry Manager for INR in LAC1 at the World Bank, based in Bogota, Colombia, plays a pivotal role in driving industry-focused initiatives across Latin America and the Caribbean. This position involves overseeing key projects aimed at fostering economic growth, enhancing industry competitiveness, and facilitating sustainable development. With a deep understanding of regional markets and global trends, the manager leads efforts to align financial services with the needs of industries, creating impactful solutions to address the region’s challenges and opportunities.

Duties and Accountabilities for Regional Industry Manager

  • Develop and execute the strategy for IFC’s INR investment activities in northern LAC, in collaboration with regional teams and WBG colleagues.
  • Coordinate and support IFC’s Upstream and Advisory services to implement the INR strategy.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, leading multidisciplinary teams to turn leads into high-impact transactions.
  • Lead business development efforts, ensuring client satisfaction, program delivery, and profitability targets.
  • Manage profitability and revenue for the INR business, ensuring long-term financial sustainability.
  • Oversee transaction management, provide investment guidance, and ensure quality control across teams.
  • Collaborate with various departments to expand IFC’s business and identify joint venture opportunities.
  • Share lessons from the portfolio to enhance strategy development and business decisions.
  • Monitor risk, profitability, and development impact of the portfolio, optimizing capital usage.
  • Ensure compliance with financial, environmental, and social standards.
  • Lead and manage the LAC INR team, contributing to the regional and global leadership teams.
  • Mentor and develop staff, providing HR and administrative oversight.

Selection Criteria:

  • Master’s degree in business, finance, or a related field.
  • At least 12 years of experience in financing/investing in the real sector (INR and/or MAS).
  • Proven track record in sourcing, structuring, and processing complex investments while developing strong client relationships.
  • Strong business development skills and client service orientation.
  • Strategic thinking and innovative solution development to drive IFC’s business growth.
  • Expertise in portfolio/asset management, including loan, equity, and guarantee supervision, and asset restructuring.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment, meeting deadlines and achieving team goals.
  • Experience in managing and developing teams.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Alignment with World Bank Group’s managerial competencies: Courage of Convictions, Leading for Impact, Influencing Across Boundaries, Fostering Openness, and Building Talent.
