The United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-Habitat, is the agency for human settlements. This promotes socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the goal of providing adequate shelter for all.
Brief about the Internship
The UN-Habitant will hire 3 interns where the internship is 6 months long in Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean. Also, you should note that this internship is UNPAID and full-time. Due to COVID-19, the internship might be remote. The working hour is decided only after the discussion between the intern and their supervisor as well as considering the minimum requirements of the organization. Furthermore, interns work five days per week under their supervisor.
Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual’s background, assigned office as well as internship period.

Also, support project coordinators at the national office.
Be responsible for scheduling activities and reports.
Work in a team to achieve organizational goals, to support the achievement of project expected results. The intern will be responsible for making records and memories of the events organized by UN-Habitat.
Be responsible for various activities like:
developing urban and public space diagnosis, policies, strategies, design, architectural plans, etc
In addition, conduct research on urban design and public space
assisting in the elaboration of urban design documents, guidelines materials, and presentations and assisting in producing information material
Tailor language, tone and style to assist in establishing a connection between UN-Habitat’s counterparts in negotiation purposes.
Also, be involved in inter-agency initiatives at national area
Work in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team
Applicants must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
enrolled in a graduate school programme
enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program
Have graduated with Bachelor’s degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent
In addition, be computer literate in standard software applications.
Preferred area of studies:
The applicants should be enrolled in a graduate school programme in Architecture, Urban Design, Urban Planning and/or related areas or be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme in architecture, urbanism, and/or related areas.
