UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, calls candidates for an internship within the Strategy and Market Development Section which sits within the Private Sector Partnerships Service (PSP) in Copenhagen Headquarters in Denmark 2020. This exciting internship is a unique opportunity to gain experience in fundraising programs (Individual Giving) as well as experience working within the UN system.

Position summary

The intern will assist the Individual Giving Unit which supports markets in developing and supporting the
implementation of our marketing channels and techniques to acquire new donors (donor acquisition) and creating an effective welcome donor journey in order to engage and connect donors to support our cause (donor development).

Key Duties

Basically, s/he will ensure timely support on special projects related to Individual Giving programs, both in donor acquisition and donor development. In particular, the followings are the work responsibilities for the incumbent of UNHCR Internship 2020 in Denmark

  • Provide operational support to Individual Giving retention and acquisition programs (i.e. Between Lives, Mystery Shopping).
  • Assist in coordinating and managing the Individual Giving Unit sharing platform. Similarly, she will assist in organizing events and providing logistical support to workshops and meetings.
  • Furthermore, the incumbent will do other tasks as assigned to support the work of the Individual Giving Unit.

Requirements

The candidate will have the following qualifications in order to be eligible for the position

  • Be a recent graduate (those persons who completed their studies within one year of applying) or current students in a graduate/undergraduate school program from a university or higher education facility accredited by UNESCO.
  • Completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies in a field relevant or of interest to work of the Organization.
  • However, an individual whose father, mother, son, daughter, brother or sister is a staff member of UNHCR, including a Temporary Appointment holder or a member of the Affiliate Workforce, is not eligible for an internship.

The successful candidate will be based on the team in the UN City in Copenhagen, Denmark. The internship is for six months and the preferred start date is 3 February 2020. It is a full-time role with working hours starting from 8.30 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday (40 hours per week).
