The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Associate Change Management Officer in Amman, Jordan. This Junior Professional Officer (JPO) role, under the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful change management initiatives in one of the most dynamic regions. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting organizational transformation, ensuring effective implementation of change strategies, and enhancing operational efficiency within UNRWA.
Duties, Responsibilities for Associate Change Management Officer
The Associate Change Management Officer supports the Director of Strategic Positioning and Change in coordinating Agency-wide change initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Key tasks include:
A. Coordination (40%)
- Ensure timely, effective implementation of change initiatives.
- Act as secretariat and contribute to working groups or taskforces.
- Conduct research on change practices aligned with global best standards.
B. Project Management (30%)
- Monitor progress, support decision-making, and improve performance.
- Develop monitoring frameworks and oversee change initiative budgets.
- Assist in risk and resistance management related to change.
C. Communications (30%)
- Implement communication strategies for change initiatives.
- Develop internal communications to gain staff buy-in.
- Support external communications and advocacy with the External Relations team.
- Lead internal and external reporting for change initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Master’s degree or equivalent in public policy, management, law, organizational development, business administration, or a related field.
- Work Experience: At least two years of professional experience, preferably at the international level, in coordination, communications, programme management, planning, or research.
- Language: Excellent command of written and spoken English. Knowledge of Arabic or another UN language is a plus.
- Nationality: This position is open only to nationals of Norway under the JPO programme framework.
