Columbia Model United Nations in New York (CMUNNY)
On behalf of our secretariat, staff, and all members of the Columbia International Relations Council and Association (CIRCA), we are honored to invite you to the thirteenth session of Columbia Model United Nations in New York (CMUNNY). This will be held at Columbia University’s campus from Thursday, September 27, through Sunday, September 30, 2018.
Since its inception, CMUNNY has been known for its well-staffed, innovative, and fast-paced crisis committees, allowing our conference to be the premier crisis conference on the North American circuit. This year, CMUNNY XIII will host over 400 delegates on our historic campus. They will be spread across 20+ committees, diverse in their time periods and geographical reach. These will be assisted by our experienced staffers at a 1:4 staff-to-delegate ratio. We seek to offer each delegate an unparalleled, personalized, and dynamic crisis experience as one of the first conferences of the year. Our priority is the delegate experience – and this extends beyond the committee room. We are excited for you to attend our Delegate Social at Hudson River Terrace and for you to explore everything this wonderful city has to offer!
Last year, CMUNNY XII took the innovative step of introducing the 24-hour committee to our conference, the first of its type on the circuit. Our yearning for improvement and creativity remains unchanged this year – we have decided to introduce Modern Foreign Language committees to our conference, in which the May 1968 committee will be conducted entirely in French, and the Mexican Revolution committee entirely in Spanish. At CMUNNY, we strive to create opportunities for delegates to engage in multifaceted, multilingual dialogues on prevalent world issues and international diplomacy. Through these conversations, we hope that we can motivate and empower delegates to engage in broader global issues.
We look forward to welcoming you in person at the thirteenth session of CMUNNY!
