Model United Nations (MUN) at UCLA is a student organization that hosts the BruinMUN high school conference in the fall, LAMUN college conference in the spring, fields a competitive Travel Team, and more.

Moreover, MUN at UCLA engages students in a dynamic simulation of the United Nations by hosting high school and college level conferences, as well as by traveling to other college level conferences hosted by top notch universities across the continent. In addition, MUN at UCLA is one of the ten comprehensive American collegiate MUN programs that has the ability to host a high school conference, a college conference, as well as field a competitive travel team.

Since its conception, LAMUN has operated on the principle of providing a dynamic, immersive experience to its delegates – a tradition which LAMUN XIV will carry forward with its unique mix of committees. Also, the LAMUN experience, however, goes beyond their committees: location in the heart of the entertainment capital of the world promises several exciting social opportunities. In addition, from tours of Universal Studios and other entertainment landmarks to a relaxing post-conference afternoon at one of LA’s several beautiful beaches, they are confident that LAMUN XIV will be a memorable weekend.

How does it work?

Students take on the role of a delegate or character from an assigned nation as well as discuss international relations topics with the ultimate goal of collaborating to write a resolution solving the issue at hand. Furthermore, Model United Nations teaches highly useful and marketable skills such as public speaking, Also, it is a fantastic avenue for networking and making lifelong friends with students at UCLA as well as all across the college MUN circuit.
