WFUNA International Model United Nations (WIMUN) is a Model UN conference for those who truly want to learn about how diplomacy is conducted inside the United Nations. The Geneva conference takes place at the Centre International de Conférences Genève. Additionally, It features UN speakers and workshops and uses the WIMUN Approach and practices. With 500 delegates from over 50 countries coming to Geneva, WIMUN is a must-do conference for every Model UN enthusiast and newcomer alike.
Moreover, WFUNA International Model United Nations(WIMUN)’s European conference takes place in Geneva, Switzerland.  a city that has embodied multilateralism for decades. Already after the end of World War I, Geneva became the center of multilateralism and diplomacy. Further, by hosting the Headquarters of the League of Nations in the historic Palais des Nations.

Today, the Palais des Nations is host to the European Headquarters of the UN. Along with important UN bodies and conferences, such as the Human Rights Council. Also, the Conference on Disarmament. Besides that, more than 250 permanent missions, delegations, and representations. Further,  and more than 400 NGOs have settled on the banks of Lake Geneva. WIMUN Approach

WIMUN is WFUNA’s global flagship MUN conference and uses the WIMUN approach to simulating UN meetings. The General Assembly and Security Council developed by the United Nations Department of Public Information. Their approach offers the most accurate simulation of the United Nations in the world. Further, It gives participants an experiential insight into how the UN really functions. This includes an emphasis on adopting resolutions by consensus, meaning delegates negotiate. Until they all agree on the text of a draft resolution and can formally adopt it without needing to vote. The collaborative nature of the consensus building process is in stark contrast to the competitive voting process used in traditional Model UNs. In addition, WIMUN approach replaces the Parliamentary Rules of Procedure used by traditional MUNs with rules that are based on the actual rules used by the United Nations General Assembly and Security Council.
