The Office of Neighborhood Safety is recruiting youth and young adults to work with policymakers and communities to reimagine NYC’s safety!
This initiative aims to lift up youth experiences to improve safety and wellbeing in key NYCHA developments and New York City. You’ll shape policies and programs, advocate for real change, amplify youth voices, as well as learn skills along the way.
You have ideas to positively impact the community that you and your family live in
Also, you aspire to be a part of a team that takes those ideas and builds on them to make them a reality
Moreover, receive a monthly stipend of $400.
The council will take place over the course of nine months. Members will participate in Council activities 2 times per week for a maximum time of 4 hours.
During this time, members will work with the Office of Neighborhood Safety, CUNY Intergenerational Change Initiative, the Center for Court Innovation, and other partners.
Please submit your application by Sunday, February 13, 2022. Each applicant will have an informal talk with the NYC by phone to get to know you a little and share more information about the ONS Youth Leadership Council.
You should share your availability and look out for the team’s future contact. NYC will notify applicants about acceptance by February 28, 2022. Programming is expected to begin by March 7, 2022!
