UNICEF opens Internal and External Vacancy Announcement for Junior Professional Officer Position on Early Childhood Development (ECD) at Nepal Country Office. Moreover, UNICEF Nepal Country Office continues to advocate for investing in children at the federal, provincial and local levels to maximize the potential of Nepal’s young population, and supports Nepal’s renewed commitments to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

UNICEF’s programmes for 2018-2022 will focus on areas related to health; nutrition; child protection; education; water, sanitation and hygiene; and social protection. Aside from these, early childhood development, adolescents, disability, gender as well as disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation are issues that will be tackled across sectors.

Join the Nepal Country Office team to contribute in programme design and implementation, evaluation of activities within the education programme, with a particular focus on early education with improved equity. Further, the post will support cross-sectoral coordination required for integrated early childhood development programmes

Education

Candidates on UNICEF Junior Professional Officer Position will have the following qualifications

  • Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in one of the disciplines relevant to the following areas: Early Childhood Development, Education: Pre-primary education, Social Sciences, or a field(s) relevant to international development assistance.
  • Also, specialization on alternative early education, child-friendly (quality) schools, equity issues is considered an asset.

Work Experience

  • Moreover, two years of professional work experience at national and international levels in relevant Education programmes.
  • Experience working in the UN or other international development organization(s) is considered an asset.
  • Experience in inclusive education is an asset as well as work experience in a developing country is considered an asset.

Language

  • Fluency in English required.
  • Fluency in another UN language is considered an asset.
  • Furthermore, fluency or Willingness to learn local working language of the duty station (Nepali) is considered an asset.
