The UPG Sustainability Leadership Program, 2022 presents an exciting opportunity for those individuals who are keen on making their mark in their fields. Additionally, this program offers an opportunity for organizations to participate in making a positive impact on communities. The United People Global (UPG) Leadership program is the world’s largest and most comprehensive sustainability leadership program for young adults. The UPG fully-funded program builds a network of world-class speakers, trainers, and leaders that participants will benefit from for a lifetime.

UPG Sustainability Leadership is a movement that mobilises individuals and organisations to support positive citizen leadership on sustainability.

It is a movement that encourages and enables citizens at all levels to take positive action. A movement inspired by the UPG’s commitment to do what we can with what we have, rather than wait for someone else to act. It is a movement that embodies the notion that everyone can do something to make the world more sustainable.

UPG believes that sustainability includes BOTH the usual “green” issues such as planting trees, recycling waste, managing energy, protecting the oceans AND other issues that have been central to our societies for a long time such as: education, health, jobs, gender equality, sustainable consumption, sustainable production and more. For those who are familiar with it, UPG uses the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)  as a guide.

The flagship activity is the #UPGSustainability Leadership training program for 500+ young adults from across the globe every year. There are also activities for schools and institutions as well as for companies.

Benefits of 2022 United People Global (UPG) Leadership Program in the USA- Fully Funded

• This fully-funded leadership takes place in the USA Hurricane Island Center of Science and Leadership for one week.
• A total of 60 participants will be selected for this fully-funded program in the USA from among 500 applicants.
• After completing the program, each participant will receive a certificate.
• These participants will then become lifetime members of the Community of Champions.

Eligibility

UPG Sustainability Leaders include:

• people who are passionate in a specific area (e.g. jobs or education or oceans), there is no need to be passionate in all areas.
• people who have already taken action related to sustainability AND people who have NEVER taken action
• from all world regions
• aged 18 to 35 on 1 October 2022
• different levels of education
• have a strong motivation to be UPG Sustainability Leaders
• willing and able to take action on sustainability
• people who believe in UPG’s mission to empower people to make the world a better place through positive action.

Finally this diversity means that everyone stands a chance when we make the selection of the final UPG Sustainability Leaders. Please note that your age is minimum 18 years or maximum 35 years on 1 October 2022. This ensures that all participants are within this age group for the duration of the training and experiences that are planned. Please also note that candidates are required to be able to speak, read and write in English as the training is conducted in English.
