Africa Matters Initiative (AMI) Her Environment, Her Future Program 2024

Her Environment, Her Future Program 2024 is a four-month, non-residential youth leadership and virtual advocacy program for young women from Africa fighting against climate change. The program is designed with a comprehensive focus on various key areas including leadership and personal development, climate education, policy engagement, advocacy, green and social entrepreneurship, and effective communication. Participants will have the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge in these fields, preparing them to take on significant roles in driving positive change. Through a combination of theoretical learning and practical application, the program aims to foster well-rounded individuals equipped to tackle the multifaceted challenges of today’s world, particularly those related to climate and sustainability.

At the end of the program, participants will be equipped with tools, context, and understanding of how to tangibly change their communities, countries, and regions under three overarching themes:

• Personal Development
• Advocacy and Leadership in the Climate change sector.
• Networking and collaboration for impact.

Eligibility for Her Future Program 2024

• Open to young women and girls aged between 16-29 years.
• Be from the following countries: Ghana, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Egypt, Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria, Madagascar, Tunisia, and SierraLeone.

Application

As part of the application, you will be required to make a short video of 3 minutes in length, briefly explaining a bit about yourself and how you believe this program will benefit your personal and professional development. Applications will close on Sunday, 14 July 2024 at 11:59 pm CAT. The application should take you about 45 minutes to an hour to complete.
