The Leakey Foundation in association with the National Geographic Society presents a fully-funded Bladwin Fellowships Program for the students from developing countries.
The Baldwin Fellowships are fully-funded opportunities that can amount up to $15,000 per year in the monetary figures. The awards are available for up to 2 years. Moreover, Baldwin Fellowships cover tuition, travel, living expenses, student fees, insurance, books, and other relevant categories of expenditure. However, the fellowship aid will be not available to cover the family expenses or dependent support, salary and/or fringe benefits of the applicant, nor institutional overhead.
Only scholars with citizenship in a developing country are eligible. In addition to that, the applicant must have a Home Sponsor who is a member of the institution where the applicant has affiliation in the home country, as well as a Host Sponsor who is a member of the institution in which the candidate plans to pursue the training. Similarly, the Host Sponsor must be willing to assume responsibility for overseeing the candidate’s training. Since the Baldwin Fellowship is intended to be a partnership between the candidate and both the Home and Host Institutions, the Leakey Foundation expects that candidates will get support from these institutions in the form of financial assistance and, upon completion of training, employment in the home country.
Interested candidates must submit an online application by end of day February 15th, 2020 for this year. The applications submitted after Feb 15 will be automatically considered for the fellowship session of the following year. Furthermore, formal letters of support from both the Home and Host Sponsors must also reach the office by this deadline.
Candidates must agree to comply with some terms and conditions as well as accept some responsibilities and commitments before starting fellowships.
However, we strongly advise candidates to visit this website to know more before starting an application.
