Become a part of CJF-CBC/Radio-Canada Black Journalism Fellowship 2022!

This fellowship aims to amplify Black voices, improve coverage of Black issues in the news and cultivate future Black media leaders.

Fellowship Catagories:

1. CJF-IJB Black Investigative Journalism
2. CJF-CBC/Radio-Canada Black Journalism
3. CJF-CBC/Radio-Canada Black Women’s Journalism
4. CJF-CTV News Black Journalism

Fellows will be recognized at the CJF Awards ceremony taking place in June 2022.

What’s Will do Do in CJF Black Journalism Fellowship?

• Six months at a CBC/Radio-Canada or CTV News newsroom across the country, or The Investigative Journalism Bureau at the University of Toronto;
• Receive mentoring and training for a variety of skills
• Receive a full-time stipend for the duration of their Fellowship experience;
• Write or produce an article/piece during their fellowship for publication/broadcast.

Conditions for CJF Black Journalism Fellowship:

• The fellowship opportunity is available to Black Canadian women.
• Full-time CBC News/Radio-Canada or CTV News employees are not eligible to apply.
• Casual or contract employees of CBC News/Radio-Canada or CTV News are eligible to apply.
• The successful applicants must be able to relocate.

Submit a proposal letter of no more than two pages indicating what you hope to achieve from your fellowship experience. Include one to two-story ideas that you would be interested in pursuing if selected.
