Evidence for Democracy Science to Policy Accelerator 2025

The Science to Policy Accelerator (S2PA) is a unique training program designed to equip early-career researchers across Canada with the skills, knowledge, and networks to engage effectively with public policy. Through expert-led sessions, hands-on exercises, and real-world case studies, S2PA provides the tools you need to translate research into action and become a leader at the science-policy interface.

As science increasingly influences policy on issues like climate change, public health, and technology, researchers need to be ready to engage with decision-makers. However, navigating the policy world requires specialized skills and strategies. That’s where S2PA comes in.

Benefits of Policy Accelerator

By participating, you will gain:

  • Gain foundational knowledge of policymaking in Canada and how science informs decision-making.
  • Develop practical skills in briefing note writing, policy engagement, and effective science communication.
  • Connect with experts and peers shaping the intersection of science and policy.
  • Learn from real-world examples of researchers successfully influencing policy change.
  • Position yourself as a knowledge broker who can bridge the gap between science and decision-making.
