- Be a local entrepreneur or community leader
- Have been operating their business or organization for 1–5 years
- Have fewer than 10 team members or employees

- Have secured some funding through revenue, grants, donations, or investment
- Be committed to participating in the full fellowship schedule
- Be based in Germany, Mexico, South Africa, Thailand, Brazil, or Vietnam, with preference for ventures serving Ford priority communities and disaster-prone regions
