Fully Funded GIST Scholarships in South Korea 2023

The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) in South Korea is inviting highly skilled and talented individuals to apply for the GIST Scholarship 2023, which supports students pursuing MS, Ph.D., and MS leading to Ph.D. programs. This scholarship offers international students the opportunity to establish a strong research base in science and technology and promotes collaborative research programs in both academia and industry.

Through research projects and courses, GIST provides world-class education and skills to its scholars in various fields related to science, technology, and research. This fully-funded scholarship is a joint project of the university and the South Korean Ministry of Science and Technology, providing full financial support to students to encourage innovation and scientific advancements.

GIST offers a range of courses, including Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Material Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Earth Science and Environmental Engineering, Life Science, Physics and Photon Science, Chemistry and Biomedical Science, Nanobio Materials and Electronics, Integrated Technology, and Artificial Intelligence. The institute has a reputation for innovation in education, having adopted a comprehensive and foundational science curriculum and making thesis quality certification mandatory.

GIST has ranked 1st in the number of citations of professors in South Korea for 14 consecutive years and is ranked 4th in the QS World University Ranking. The scholarship benefits include full tuition support, student allowances, meal allowances, research assistantship, health insurance, and reimbursement for a one-way flight to Korea for incoming international students.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must hold or expect to hold a final degree before enrollment at GIST and provide official transcripts, two letters of recommendation, and meet minimum English language requirements.
