The Scholarship Department of the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung is awarding the fully funded international scholarship to highly-qualified undergraduate and doctoral students from Germany and abroad who evidence high levels of social and political engagement. In granting scholarships, the Stiftung seeks to counteract the social, political and gender discrimination prevalent in our society. Therefore it gives preference to applications from women, students of non-academic and migrant backgrounds, the socially needy, and people with disabilities who demonstrate comparable achievements and commitment. The institution is encouraging applications from undergraduate and doctoral students from scientific and technical disciplines.
Both resident, as well as foreign doctoral students, are eligible to apply for a doctoral scholarship in all disciplines (except for medical degrees).
The German doctoral students enrolled in a public or publicly accredited institution of higher education in Germany, the EU or Switzerland are eligible for scholarships. Foreign doctoral students enrolled in a doctoral programme at a public or publicly accredited institution of higher education in Germany are also eligible. Foreign students planning for an extended research stay outside of Germany during their doctoral studies are also eligible for this scholarship
The scholar will receive a monthly stipend of 1200€. Furthermore, s/he will receive a transportation lump sum of 100€, and a further lump sum of 20€.
However, we do not allow double funding with other public funds. Also, we will calculate multiple scholarships together. Moreover, private stays in one’s home country or other third countries cannot be funded.
