The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) offers grants in favor of foreign citizens. Additionally, The government scholarship is not for citizens residing in Italy and Italian citizens living abroad for the academic year 2019-2020. Further, The Scholarship is planned in order to foster

• international cultural,
• scientific and
• technological cooperation,

Also, to promote the Italian language and culture and to support Italy’s economic system in the world

Moreover, government scholarship is only available to attend academic courses in Italy. The government of Italy offers various scholarships for international students.

Grants opportunity for government scholarships:

 1. Master’s Degree :

Awarded for a period of study of 6 (six) or 9 (nine) months. Further, admission to the first year of a Master’s Degree course in Italy requires the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in the applicants’ country of origin.

2. Courses of Higher Education in Arts, Music, and Dance:

Awarded for a period of study of 6 (six) or 9 (nine) months. Further, To be admitted to an Italian AFAM Institute, Also, applicants need to meet the entry requirements and academic qualifications established by the relevant University/Institute.

3.  Ph.D. program:

Awarded for a period of study of 6 (six) or 9 (nine) months. Further, To be admitted to a Ph.D. in Italy, applicants need to meet the entry requirements and academic qualifications established by the University.

4. Research under academic supervision:

Awarded for a period of study of 6 (six) or 9 (nine) months. Further, This type of grants can be awarded to research projects carried out at the Italian Research Institutions.

5. Italian Language and Culture Courses:

Awarded exclusively for a period of 3 (three) months to students currently attending an Italian course at a University or at an Italian Cultural Institute. Further, applicants must provide a certificate of their proficiency in the Italian language.

Eligibility for government scholarship:

• Firstly, Candidates from abroad who do not hold Italian citizenship
•  Applicants should not be over 28 years old by the deadline of this call for (Master’s Degree/Higher Education in Arts, Music, and also, Dance (AFAM) Programmes/ Italian Language and Culture Courses )
• Applicants for Ph.D. Programmes should not be over 30 years old by the deadline
• In order to enroll in an Italian-taught course, applicants must provide a certificate of their proficiency in the Italian language
• In this case, applicants must provide a language certificate of their proficiency in the English Language.
• Finally, for Italian language and culture courses, applicants must provide a certificate of their proficiency in the Italian language.
