Details

The University of Padova, the Veneto Region and other organisations offer various scholarship schemes to support students. Below is a list of the funding opportunities that are most often used by international students in Padova.

1. Padova International Excellence Scholarship Programme: The University of Padova offers scholarships to highly talented prospective students wishing to pursue a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree completely held in English in PadovaThe scholarship programme is highly selective. 

Benefits: fee-waiver + €12.000,00 scholarship (gross amount).

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • have a non-Italian nationality
  • hold a non-Italian secondary school diploma (for Bachelor’s degree applicants) or a non-Italian Bachelor’s degree (for Master’s degree applicants)
  • pre-enrol to any degree course completely taught in English at the University of Padova within the deadline (see the Call for Applications)
  • Failure to meet one or more of these criteria automatically means that applicants are not eligible for this scholarship.

How to apply: Applicants will be automatically considered for the selection procedure if they meet the requirements. There is no separate application to be filled out or additional specific documents to be submitted besides those indicated in the Calls for applications of the chosen course.

2. Regione Veneto Scholarships: The University of Padova, through the Veneto Region funding, supports low-income students (both Italian and international) enrolling in first, single or second cycle degrees and Phd courses. 

Amounts and Benefits: The amount of the scholarship varies according to their family income and other conditions specified in the Call. The scholarship may include both the exemption of tuition fees and a subsistence allowance, as well as free or discounted student services such as accommodation, meals at university canteens, etc.

Eligibility

Any student meeting the below criteria:

  • have a low family income (ISEE below euro 23,253.00 and ISPE below euro 35.824,56)
  • have been admitted to one of the University of Padova degree courses or Phd courses
  • comply with the conditions for obtaining an Italian visa
  • do not benefit from any other national or international scholarship or grant
  • meet the merit criteria and other additional requirements specified in the Call

How to apply: Applicants can apply online by filling out the Richiesta di agevolazioni – Application for benefits, available on personal Uniweb page.

Deadline: Applications usually open at the end of July and close at the end of September

3. Galileian School of Higher Education Scholarships: The Scuola Galileiana di Studi Superiori (Galilean School of Higher Education) is the University of Padova’s school of excellence. It combines traditional university education with a series of special in-house courses comprising seminars and lectures by renowned international visiting professors.

Benefits: 1 return ticket from/to applicants home country (up to euro 1.500); free board and accommodation at University of Padova canteens and residences; reimbursement of documented expenses such as books, etc.; up to euro 5.000 living allowance

Eligibility

Applicants are eligible to apply if they:

  • hold (or expect to hold by 31 July) a non-Italian first-cycle/Bachelor diploma
  • have been admitted OR are eligible to be admitted to one of University of Padova second-cycle degree courses
  • be no older than 26 at the time of application.

How to apply: Apply online following the instructions provided in the official Call for Applications. Please note: in addition to the Galilean School application, applicants need to apply to the chosen degree course on Unipd website following standard Unipd application procedures.

Deadline: Between 7 February 2018, 1.00 pm (GMT+1 ) and 4 April 2018, 1.00 pm (GMT+2 )
