Durham University calls application for Hatfield Lioness Scholarship 2020. Basically, Hatfield Lioness Scholarship aims to assist a female student from a developing country where access to tertiary education is limited to benefit from undertaking postgraduate study at the University of Durham. It is a fully funded scholarship opportunity for a female to study a postgraduate degree at Durham University in the United Kingdom. Scholarship recipient women will pursue education on any postgraduate course except MBA.

Who can apply?

This scholarship is open to female candidates from developing countries who wish to pursue a master’s degree at Durham University.  In order to be eligible, applicants must have applied for and been offered an unconditional place on their chosen master’s program by the end of May 2020. In addition to that, applicants must not be in receipt of any other scholarship to fund their postgraduate studies.

Furthermore, applicants should

  • hold a relevant honors degree of sufficient standard to get admission in a Master’s course.
  • have all other course entry requirements including the relevant English language qualification.
  • not hold a Master’s degree.
  • not otherwise have the financial means to study for a Master’s degree in the UK.

Funding 

Hatfield Lioness Scholarships Program bestows the fully funded scholarships for eligible female students. the scholarship will cover

  • Full payment of University tuition fees
  • Stipend for living expenses – 4 quarterly payments
  • One return economy air ticket from the home country to the UK, as well as the cost of return travel between the UK airport and Durham City
  • Fully funded, self-catered, single room in mixed accommodation at Hatfield College
  • ‘Settling in allowance’ on arrival
  • Cost of UK visa and also the UK Health surcharge

Application Process 

  • Stage 1: An academic application for the chosen master’s program; within this application, an applicant should also reference her intention to apply for the Hatfield Lioness Scholarship. She should forward her academic offer letter to [email protected] when she receives it from the University.
