By the time of admission to the program, applicants must have completed a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree with significant exposure to physics, engineering or a related subject (B.Sc., B.Eng., or B.Tech. and M.Sc., M.Eng. or M.Tech.) depending on the program for which you are applying. As a Ph.D. candidate, you conduct research with the brightest minds in all of Germany. Additionally, the University offers excellent young talents the chance to take the next quantum leap in photonics research – with a unique network, high-class research facilities, and full scholarships instead of tuition fees. Furthermore, besides excellent networking opportunities, the MPSP offers a supporting curriculum to foster interactions between the different photonics-related disciplines, strengthen the research network, and to advance personal and professional skills.

Applications can be submitted via an online platform during the application phase which will start on August 15th, 2020.

First, applicants must submit their online applications. Furthermore, shortlisted applicants must then take an online test. In the last step, applicants that succeed in the online test shall face an interview via Skype or telephone.
