Simmons University invites application from undergraduate students for fully funded Scholarships. The Gilbert and Marcia Kotzen Scholars Program is a competitive merit award that recognizes the best and brightest students interested in a transformative education at Simmons University. Simmons University offers this award as the most prestigious award and acknowledges excellence through a focus on study abroad, scholarly research, and intellectual curiosity.

Kotzen scholarship covers full tuition, mandatory fees, and room and board. An additional annual award of $3000 is given for study abroad, short-term courses, summer internship tuition, or research support. Students pursuing a four-year full-time undergraduae degree will receive the scholarship. Further, it supersedes any previously awarded merit scholarship. Also, Simmons University doesn’t restrict international undergraduate students to apply for these fully funded scholarships to study in USA. Students who meet the criteria below are often also interested in the Simmons Honors Program.

Benefits of the scholarship include:

  • The scholarship covers full tuition, mandatory fees, and room and board.

Application Requirements

Students applying for the Kotzen Scholarship must meet the following criteria:

  • Apply as a freshman for the fall semester
  • A standardized test score of 28 or higher (ACT), 1300 or higher (new SAT) or 1250 or higher (old SAT – CR+M). Minimum of 600 in each SAT section strongly recommended.
  • Non-native English speakers must submit TOEFL and SAT or ACT scores
  • Likewise, GPA of 3.3 or higher, unweighted
  • College preparatory curriculum including an advanced level math course during, or prior to, your senior year of high school
  • Also, A record of taking honors, advanced placement (AP) and international baccalaureate (IB) courses, as available in their high school systems

Application Process

To apply for the scholarship, applicants must meet all the criteria. Further, the application consists of a short answer and a formal essay in response to the prompts below. Students should submit their essays in PDF or Word Doc via our online form, or email directly.

The short answer should be no longer than 250 words and answer the applicant’s usages of the scholarship funds. While the formal essay should reflect your view on the topic “leaders are born and not made”. However,  the essay should be no longer than 500 Words.

Deadline

Applicants must submit their application form as well as the essays before December 1, 2019, for the undergraduate courses starting in 2020.
