Details

Applications are open for the  John Smith Trust Wider Europe Fellowship 2019 in UK.  Fellowship Programmes give the next generation of leaders the chance to explore issues of good governance, the rule of law and social justice in the UK through an intensive four-week series of workshops, debates, visits and meetings. On return home, Fellows are able to use the contacts made and relationships established during the UK Programme as follow-up support. The John Smith Trust Programmes connect a growing network of over 500 Fellows across the region who continue to exchange ideas and collaborate with each other. The JST Fellowship is for life.

The JST is looking for future leaders who will participate actively in the UK residential Programme, including the development and subsequent implementation of an Action Plan. On completion of the UK Programme, the Fellows make a long-term commitment to the John Smith Trust as members of its Alumni Network: staying in touch, participating in regional events and continuing to exchange and collaborate with other Fellows, including new intakes.

Benefits

  • The Fellowship is a unique career enhancing and potentially life changing opportunity to develop your leadership skills and gain professional experience through access to high level UK experts and senior leaders.
  • You will see in practice how UK institutions function and how they address the challenges facing a modern democracy.
  • You will have the chance to make lifelong friendships and invaluable professional contacts.
  • After completion, you will become part of the John Smith Alumni Network which spans over 20 countries and territories, connecting leaders from government, civil society organizations and the private sector.
  • JST covers

    • All costs related to the workshops, visits, meetings and sessions in the UK are covered by the Trust.

Please note: Fellows are responsible for the cost and provision of their own medical and travel insurance during the UK programme and need to obtain this prior to arrival in the UK.
