The Helmut Veith Stipend honors the memory of an outstanding computer scientist who worked in the fields of logic in computer science, computer-aided verification, software engineering, and computer security. Helmut Veith, who tragically passed away on March 2016, was a strong advocate and mentor for women in computer science. As such in honor of Helmut Veith and in association with Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien), fully funded scholarships are available for outstanding women pursuing computer science at TU Wien.
Moreover, Vienna University of Technology awards Helmut Veith Stipend annually to outstanding female students in the field of computer science who pursue (or plan to pursue) one of the master’s programs in Computer Science at TU Wien taught in English. Applicants must be eligible for admission to a master’s program in Computer Science taught in English at TU Wien. While the applicants can file for the scholarship before or in parallel with the admissions process, the applicants will receive the scholarship only if they receive unconditional admittance to master’s program.
The candidates successful to receive the Women in Computer Science Scholarship will receive a full exemption on tuition fee for the master’s program. Furthermore, the candidates will also receive a stipend of EUR6,000 annually for the duration of the course.

The deadline to apply for the fully funded women in computer science scholarship is until 30 November 2019. The Vienna University of Technology will not accept applications arriving after the deadline.
