Applications are now open for the Simon Lee Foundation Scholarship in Australia 2020. The Simon Lee Foundation Scholarship will enable a gifted and committed commencing student studying ECU Bachelor of Music in Classical Performance – Instrumental to study all facets of historical keyboard performance. In addition to studying a common core of history and theory, the recipient will follow a specialized performance-based curriculum in most likely their chosen area.

Moreover, Whilst it is envisioned that the successful candidate would come from a background in modern piano, s/he would be required to display a flair for, and/or a keen interest in, historically informed performance practice. The Simon Lee Scholar will study under the guidance of an existing core team of experts and will have access to national and international Visiting Artists of the highest caliber. Further, the scholarship is four years in duration, with each year being worth $20,000 ($80,000). A further $20,000 will be in the final two years, to enable travel to study European keyboard.

Eligibility

  • Applied to study in full-time WAAPA’s Bachelor of Music Classical Performance – Instrumental Course.
  • This scholarship is open to individuals who are future and current ECU students.
  • In order to apply for this scholarship, you must have a course application in the ECU system.
