Applications for Global Health Corps Fellowships are open for 2020/21 sessions. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates to build skills and gain experience with a high-impact health organization. This is the opportunity for participants to boost the personal as well as professional growth as a leader, placing within a global and diverse network of bright, young, and committed health equity champions.

Aims of the Fellowship

The Global Helth Corps expects to aid participants fellows by delivering the following skills and privileges

  • Training: The fellowship starts with one week of inspiring sessions with thought leaders, bonding with your cohort, and reflections on the role of a next-gen global health leader. Training, coaching, and mentorship continue year-round.
  • Learn as you Go: Participants will adapt and innovate as you learn the needs of your placement organization, and work to add value and advance health equity. In addition to that, there will be highs and lows, and new learnings every day.
  • Build your resilience: Transforming health systems is complex, difficult, and long-term work and they have to bring your whole self. So cultivating resilience, self-care, and empathy as an emerging leader is a core component of the curriculum GHC.
  • Global community of support: GHC fellows and alumni span borders and boundaries of all kinds, but form a tight-knit network united in the belief that health is a human right. Fellows are placed in pairs so there is always someone to turn to.

Eligibility 

The candidate must demonstrate the following qualifications in order to be eligible for Global Health Corps Fellowships 2020/21

  • Be 30 years or younger and also should hold a bachelor’s or undergraduate university degree.
  • Must have excellent proficiency in English.
  • Be a citizen or legal permanent resident of Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, the United
    States, or Zambia.

Application deadline on January 15, 2020. 

Global Health Corps is a U.S. non-profit organization that offers a competitive fellowship to support emerging global health leaders. Moreover, it selects young professionals for paid, 13-month fellowships with organizations promoting health equity in East Africa, Southern Africa, and the United States.
