Japanese Government MEXT Scholarships (Fully Funded) (Young Leaders’ Program) has launched its application for the 2020-21 academic year. The applications are open for international students interested to pursue Master’s Program in Public Administration/Public Policy, Local Governance, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, and Law from October 2020 in Japan.

The Young Leaders’ Program (YLP) aims to contribute to cultivate future national leaders in Asian and other countries, to contribute to establish the friendly relationships among various countries and to improve policy planning activities by forming a network among national leaders through deepening their understanding of Japan. The YLP is one of the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Programs.

  • School of Government Course: Hosted by National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS)
  • School of Local Governance Course: Hosted by National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS)
  • Healthcare Administration Course: Hosted by Nagoya University
  • Business Administration Course: Hosted by Hitotsubashi University
  • Law Course: Hosted by Kyushu University

Eligibility for MEXT Scholarships

  • Applicants must be nationals of nations eligible for the YLP.
  • The studentships are awarded within the field of faculty of state Course, Local Governance Course, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, and Law.
  • Nationality: Applicant must be nationals of nations eligible for the YLP (School of Government). An applicant who has Japanese nationality at the time of application isn’t eligible.
  • Age: Applicants must be, in theory, under 40 years aged as of October 1, 2020
  • Academic Background: Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized/accredited university or college, and have achieved excellent academic performance.
  • Work Experience: a minimum of 3 years of full-time work experience publicly administration (preferably 5 years or more).
  • Health: Applicants must be judged that you simply are medically capable pursue study in Japan by an examining physician on a prescribed certificate of health.
  • Arrival in Japan: in theory, applicants must be ready to arrive in Japan during the amount specified by GRIPS, within a fortnight before and after the primary day of the course conducted by the accepting university.
