What is the Value of Leicester University Scholarships?

The University of Leicester provides Science and Engineering Scholarships that cover a portion of the tuition fee. Moreover, the scholarships are payable as tuition fee waiver and successful students will receive a waiver of 22%-28% in their tuition fee.

Am I eligible for Leicester University Scholarships?

The University of Leicester considers students eligible for the Science and Engineering Scholarships if they are:

• classified as an international (non-EU) student for fee purposes.
• Hold a place of the offer (conditional/unconditional) at the University of Leicester for the academic session of 2019/20
• If you currently have a conditional offer of a place at the University, you will still need to fulfill any conditions stated on your offer letter.
• Moreover, the scholarship is only available for campus-based courses.
• Students may hold only one University of Leicester scholarship. If you receive more than one scholarship, you will, therefore, receive only the higher value award.
• The fee discount is applicable to the standard tuition fee for each year of your course. The discount is not applicable to a year spent abroad or on an industrial placement (these years have a greatly reduced fee anyway).

How To Apply for Science and Engineering Scholarships

Applicants do not require a separate application for Science and Engineering Scholarships. Everyone acquiring admission in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at the University of Leicester is eligible for the scholarship. Hence, to gain admission, applicants will require to submit an online application to the university. Also, they will require the following documents:

• Current university transcript (minimum CGPA 3.0).
• Copy of the photo-ID page of your passport.
• If English is not your first language, provide evidence of your proficiency in English with an overall IELTS score of 6.0 – 7.0 (depending on course) or TOEFL iBT 80 -100.

Deadline

The University of Leicester accepts the application for fall semester admission until 31 May 2019. Hence, students must gain admission in Science and Engineering program to be eligible for the program’s Scholarships schemes.
