The Mental Health America (MHA) Young Leaders Council (YLC) comprises a dynamic group of young individuals who have taken the initiative to develop and implement programs aimed at addressing gaps in mental health support and resources within their communities. This council is dedicated to fostering innovative solutions and enhancing mental health advocacy through grassroots efforts. Each year, MHA selects 10 exceptional leaders to join this prestigious six-month leadership development program. During their time with the YLC, these leaders receive valuable training and mentorship, engage in collaborative projects, and contribute to advancing mental health initiatives. The program not only empowers them to strengthen their leadership skills but also equips them with the tools and network needed to drive impactful change in their communities.
Selected applicants will join a cohort, providing an opportunity to connect and exchange ideas with fellow leaders from across the U.S. As part of this program, YLC members will actively contribute to Mental Health America’s (MHA) content and collaborate on an annual report that focuses on expanding or replicating innovative ideas in mental health. This engagement not only enhances their professional growth but also drives meaningful advancements in mental health advocacy and awareness across the nation.
