Many scholarships come with restrictions and entry fees that limit accessibility. Therefore, funded MPOWER international Women in STEM scholarship is designed in a way that makes it widely accessible to international students.  Moreover, MPOWER’s mission is to support international students and their career aspirations. The funded MPOWER international scholarships are just one of the many ways to fulfill their mission. MPOWER Financing is a Public Benefit Corporation. MPOWER Women in STEM International Scholarships

MPOWER offers three Scholarships to International Women in STEM. Recipients may receive One $5,000 scholarship, one $3,000 scholarship, and one $2,000 scholarship who are currently enrolled or accepted to study full-time in a STEM degree program at a program MPOWER support in the United States or Canada.

Eligibility for the MPOWER Women in STEM International Scholarship

MPOWER considers a candidate eligible for the International Women in STEM scholarship if they are:

• accepted at, or enrolled in, a full-time STEM degree program at a U.S. or Canadian school that MPOWER supports, and
• a female international student allowed to legally study in the U.S. or Canada, as applicable.
  • For study in the U.S., this means that the applicant is either a U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, or has a valid visa that permits study in the U.S.
  • For study in Canada, this means the applicant is either a Canadian permanent resident or has a valid Canadian study permit.

Selection Criteria

MPOWER will select winners for the International Women in STEM scholarships on the basis of:

• Quality of the applicant’s written essays; the essays should demonstrate clarity of thought, compelling goals and vision, and superior writing skills in English;
• Applicant’s record of academic and (if applicable) professional distinction;
• Likewise, the applicant’s potential to make significant contributions in a STEM field that will benefit people and/or the planet; and
• The applicant’s track record and/or potential as a role model as well as advocate for women and girls in STEM.

How to apply for the MPOWER Women in STEM International Scholarship?

In order to apply for the MPOWER Women in STEM scholarship, an international applicant must meet all the eligibility requirements of the scholarship. Only then can the applicant apply for the scholarship. In order to apply for the scholarship, the candidates will require to complete and submit the online application. Along with the application, the candidates must submit necessary documents as well as answer the question available in the form.

Deadline

International Candidates can apply for the MPOWER Women in STEM Scholarships until 15 November 2019. MPOWER doesn’t accept the application arriving after the deadline.
