Nigeria Health Watch Science-Policy Communication Fellowship 2025

Nigeria Health Watch invites early to mid-career professionals, researchers, and advocates to apply for its Science-Policy Communication Fellowship—a hands-on, immersive programme designed to build the capacity of participants to effectively bridge the gap between scientific research and public policy. This fellowship equips individuals with practical skills to translate complex scientific evidence into clear, compelling, and policy-relevant communication that can inform decision-making and drive positive change. Through a mix of interactive workshops, mentorship, and real-world learning experiences, fellows will deepen their understanding of the science-policy interface and strengthen their ability to influence policy processes in sectors such as public health, development, and governance. Ideal for individuals working in academia, policy advocacy, journalism, or any field where evidence-based communication is essential, this programme offers a unique opportunity to amplify the impact of research and contribute meaningfully to national and community development.

Africa and Nigeria in particular faces unique public health challenges that demand evidence-based policy responses. Yet, a critical gap exists between research and policy implementation. This 3-month fellowship aims to bridge that divide by building a network of skilled communicators who can champion evidence-based advocacy. Participants will receive expert-led training, personalized mentorship, and the opportunity to design and implement a real-world public health communication project.
