Scholarship Benefits

Eligible Fields of Study

Applicants must plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas:

• Human Resources

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

• Be a high school senior, high school graduate, or current undergraduate student.
• Plan to enroll full-time at an accredited four-year college or university for the upcoming academic year.
• Intend to study one of the eligible academic disciplines.
• Reside in Illinois, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio, or Texas, or plan to attend college in one of these states.

In addition, applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Family income is at or below 150% of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Poverty Guidelines.
• Currently in foster care or formerly in foster care.
• First-generation college student (neither parent nor guardian has earned a four-year college degree).

Employees of ORIX USA and their immediate family members are not eligible to apply.

Selection Criteria

Applications are evaluated based on:

• Academic achievement
• Leadership experience
• School and community involvement
• Work experience
• Educational and career goals
• Personal or family circumstances
• Demonstrated financial need

Scholarship recipients are selected independently by Scholarship America.

Required Documents

Applicants must submit:

• Current academic transcript
• Copy of the first two pages of the most recent IRS Form 1040 (with Social Security numbers and bank account information removed)
• SAT or ACT score report (if scores are not listed on the transcript and the applicant wishes to include them)

• Application Deadline: 8 July 2026 (3:00 PM Central Time)
• Recipient Notification: August 2026
• Scholarship Payment: September 2026
