Applications for Palestine Studies Post-doctoral Award 2020/21 at Columbia University are now open. The Center for Palestine Studies at Columbia University’s Middle East Institute announces the competition for the 2020-2021 Ibrahim Abu-Lughod Post-Doctoral Award. Moreover, this year-long post-doctoral fellowship seeks to recognize and foster innovative and ground-breaking scholarship on issues related to Palestine and Palestinians.
Generally, this award is to support a scholar working on a book project in any field of the humanities or social sciences who is ready to spend an academic year at Columbia University in New York. Furthermore, the position will be pursuing her or his research and writing, contributing to curricular matters, and participating in the intellectual life of the Center for Palestine Studies.
Palestine Studies Post-doctoral Award 2020/21 at Columbia University is a fully-funded position that offers a living stipend of a total of $50,00o for the academic year.
The 2020-2021 Ibrahim Abu-Lughod Post-Doctoral Award is open to all post-doctoral scholars who share the mission of the Center for Palestine Studies to advance the production and circulation of knowledge on Palestinian history, culture, society, and politics through outstanding scholarship. However, Columbia University strongly encourages applications from individuals from underrepresented programs who would benefit most from the academic resources of Columbia University. Any applicants who wish to participate must have a Ph.D. in hand by June 2020. Furthermore, the Fellow may not hold any other major fellowship or teaching obligations during the award period.
