The University of Massachusetts Amherst calls application for Postdoctoral Research Associate in Geosciences. The Research Associate will do the following duties
- Develop a research plan for investigating DT and GIA for critical time slices.
- Be completely responsible for carrying out computer modeling.
- Share in the publication of manuscripts and in scientific conferences and planned workshops.
Other Functions
- Work collaboratively and effectively to promote teamwork, diversity, equality, and inclusiveness.
- Work in partnership with colleagues within the CNS community and across the campus to support the Dean’s strategic priorities.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission and goals of the College of Natural Sciences.
Minimum Qualifications
The incumbent at this Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Massachusetts will have the following qualifications
- Must have a Ph.D. at the time of hire, with a background in Earth Sciences, Physics, and other quantitative subjects.
- Familiarity with existing and emerging geophysical computer models (e.g., ASPECT and other tools like those associated with Computational Infrastructure for Geodynamics web portal).
- Motivated, and comfortable with teamwork and collaboration.
- Openness to mentoring and professional development programs routinely offered.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
While we expect office space and computer portal will be available within the Geoscience space in Morrill Science Center, the candidate may have to work remotely as COVID-19 accommodations warrant.
