Application call for Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at University College Dublin School of Computer Science. The successful candidate will work on the development and implementation of machine learning techniques to improve sustainable crop production and management techniques, thereby optimizing crop production efficiency. The position has a fixed salary of €35,324 per annum.
Specifically; the project will use a variety of machine learning and advanced data analytic techniques to extract new knowledge and information. This knowledge will be used for decision-making, process production optimization, resource planning, and more importantly; it will be used to build an intelligent integrated crop model, which will underpin the advice offered by a suite of intelligent advisory tools. The candidate will track research program activities and report to the Principal Investigator and liaise with other work packages leaders and teams.
This is a research-focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator. The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competencies, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic research environment and will also work collaboratively in a team of researchers and PhD students, actively contributing to exciting and cutting-edge multi-disciplinary research.
