The University of Massachusetts Amherst seeks an appointment for a Postdoctoral Research Associate Fellowship with the Northeast Climate Adaption Science Center in the United States of America. A 1-2 year postdoctoral fellowship with the Northeast Climate Adaptation Science Center, a partnership between the US Geological Survey and the University of Massachusetts.
This is an opportunity to couple cutting-edge approaches of translational ecology and knowledge co-production with the strengths of decision science for climate adaptation. Products will include scientific journal articles, publicly-accessible research syntheses, and management guidelines for the conservation of climate change refugia. Ultimately, this project will inform natural resource management decisions related to land protection, invasive species treatment, recreation management, and a host of other conservation challenges.
The Research Fellowship at University of Massachusetts Amherst will use spatial ecology techniques to analyze biodiversity and climate data; lead national and/or regional workshops (remote as necessary) so that refugia research can be incorporated to reduce uncertainty and improve management; and write a synthetic paper for peer-reviewed publication taking a national view of how climate change refugia can be identified and managed. In addition to that, candidates on this Research Fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Amherst will do the following duties
