Eligibility Criteria for RIFS Fellows Program 2026

• The fellowship in Germany is open to applicants from around the world.
• It is available to people from various sectors including science, public administration, the private sector, civil society, media and the arts.
• Moreover, fellows from the scientific community should have a PhD or similar level of experience when the fellowship begins.
• Non-academic applicants should have a minimum of three to five years of relevant work experience in their chosen field.
• The proposed research or related activities should align with and add value to the Institute’s work programme.
• Similarly, the thematic focus of the proposed research should be relevant to at least one of the Institute’s three main research themes.
• They should also clearly indicate at least one specific Research Group they aim to collaborate and work with.
