SCAR Fellowships In Antarctic Research, 2020 applicants must be current Ph.D. researchers or the Ph.D. of the candidates should be not more than 5 years old. The SCAR Fellowship Programme is for Ph.D. students, or those within five years of having completed a Ph.D., to undertake research at major international laboratories, field facilities, and/or institutes in or operated by SCAR member countries with the goal of exposing them to recent advances in research and to develop long-term scientific links and partnerships.
The Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) is an interdisciplinary body of the International Council for Science (ICSU). Additionally, it was established in February 1958 to continue the international coordination of Antarctic scientific activities that had begun during the International Geophysical Year of 1957-58. Furthermore, SCAR charges with initiating, developing, and coordinating scientific research in the Antarctic region. Likewise, the scientific business of SCAR is conducted by its Standing Scientific Groups.
