Sir Harry Evans Global Fellowship 2026 | Paid Fellowship

The Sir Harry Evans Global Fellowship 2026 is a prestigious nine-month program for early-career journalists to develop their investigative reporting skills. Offered by Durham University in partnership with leading newsrooms in Toronto, London, Sydney, or New York, the fellowship combines hands-on newsroom experience with academic mentorship. Fellows will receive a monthly salary of approx. £4,444, a £1,250/month living stipend, and a £1,800 travel allowance. Open to applicants worldwide—especially those underrepresented in journalism—the program provides access to top editors, researchers, and a global network of professionals. It’s a unique chance to grow as a journalist and contribute to impactful storytelling.

Eligibility Criteria of the Sir Harry Evans Global Fellowship 2026:

  • The Journalism fellowship is open to applicants from all over the world.
  • Applicants should have two to five years of professional experience in journalism.
  • Moreover, applicants not currently working as journalists but with investigative experience in related fields (e.g., leading social justice publications, conducting in-depth research, producing documentaries etc) may also be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • The international fellowship encourages applicants from under-represented groups in journalism.
