Generally, Sports Scholarship at Bangor University is the platform for national as well as international students with different athletic abilities and skills. Bangor University is supporting and encouraging sports and athletic talents to move ahead with combining their sporting development and academic achievements together. This scholarship program is not limited to any sports or courses. But the preferences will be given to those candidates who have the potential to represent Bangor University in British University and College Sport (BUCS) competition. Other applicants and scholars can still apply for the scholarship.


  • Firstly, You must be European, Commonwealth or world-class competitor on any sports. Similarly, the potential to achieve podium or scoring points would be a plus benefit.
  • In addition to that, you must not have any history of disciplinary charges and doping infraction in any sport.
  • On the other hand, you must not hold any funding and scholarships from before.

Amount of Scholarship

The scholarship amount is up to £3,000 per year.

Application process

In order to participate in the Sports Scholarship program, students need to fill out the scholarship application form and submit before the deadline.

Applications deadlines

There are two application windows for Sports Scholarship at Bangor University; one is for fresher and the second is to existing students.

  • For fresher, the deadline is 31st March of the entry year.
  • For existing and late entry students, the deadline is 31st October of the particular academic year.
