
The Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships 2027–2028 provide international researchers and talented art students with the opportunity to study or conduct research in Switzerland. The programme is offered by the Swiss Confederation to promote international academic exchange and research collaboration with more than 180 countries.
The programme offers Research Fellowships for postgraduate researchers in any discipline who wish to conduct research at Swiss universities, universities of applied sciences, ETH Zurich, EPFL or eligible ETH Domain research institutes.
There are also Art Scholarships for talented international artists seeking their first Master’s degree in an artistic field. Art scholarships are available only to applicants from selected countries.
Selected scholars receive CHF 2,450 per month to help cover living expenses in Switzerland. Additional benefits can include health and accident insurance for eligible non-EU/EFTA scholars and a one-time housing allowance.
