United Nation Journalism Fellowships – Apply Now
Greetings, future Fellows! Thank you for your interest in the 2021 virtual RAF Programme. Please take your time to fill in the application form, and please do so as detailed and truthfully as possible.
The RAF Fellowship, named after a young UN communications officer who lost her life in the 2003 bombing of the UN office in Iraq, aims to provide young journalists from developing and transitioning economies with a unique, in-depth exposure to the UN, its daily work and its people, through exclusive trainings, briefings and interviews with top UN officials. RAF Fellows benefit from a more nuanced understanding of the UN and related issues, a network with other journalists across the globe, and positive impact to their career advancement as professional journalists.
Traditionally, the RAF Fellowship is held every year in New York in September to coincide with the opening sessions of the General Assembly. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, please note that the 2021 RAF Programme is entirely virtual. However, depending on performance and commitment, Fellows of this cohort may be strongly considered for a future in-person RAF.
