Universiti Brunei Darussalam Scholarship for international students are open for application.

In a relatively short period of time, the Universiti Brunei Darussalam has advanced and expanded both in academics and infrastructure, producing influential leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals. UBD is guided by its five core values; people, expertise, Aptitude, relevance, and leadership. The university uses these values as yardsticks in the development and running of eight academic faculties, eight research institutes, and two support centers ranging from Islamic Studies, Business, Arts, Science, Health Sciences, Asian Studies, Policy Studies, Education, Biodiversity and Integrated Technologies.

The success of UBD students is not confined to academic areas only. In fact, UBD seeks to produce holistic and well­rounded generation leaders guided by three principles: innovation and entrepreneurship, industry-relevant skills, and a passion for lifelong learning. This is in line with its motto, “Ke Arah Kesempurnaan Insan” or “Towards Human Excellence”. In light of this, the university provides the Universiti Brunei Darussalam Scholarship for all level of studies. Among them, the UBD Graduate Scholarship and UBD Bursary Award are the most prestigious scholarship awards.

UBD Graduate Scholarship (UGS)

The UBD Graduate Scholarship (UGS) recognizes outstanding scholars, students, and professionals to undertake graduate study and advanced research in Universiti Brunei Darussalam. The scholarship provides Bruneian and non-Bruneian candidates the unique opportunity to pursue their academic and research goals and network extensively with international researchers.

Award

• Waived tuition fees, including registration and acceptance fees at Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
• Also, A subsistence allowance of BND 500.00 per month for 36 months.
• Further, On-campus accommodation for 36 months.
• Likewise, For candidates not residing in Brunei Darussalam, the scholarship will cover travel expenses. Moreover, the candidate will receive one round trip economy class air ticket. It will allow them to journey from their home country to the host country. It will also allow them to return back to their home country upon completion of their studies.
• Also, Allowances for field research (BND 1000.00 for Arts and Humanities, and BND 2000.00 for Science candidates)

Eligibility

• Has at least a first class honors Bachelor degree with a distinction in Master degree or equivalent qualification. OR, A second class upper honors Bachelor degree and a Master degree with a good publication record from and after undertaking the Master degree or equivalent qualification.
• Further, High quality and impactful research proposal.
• Moreover, Fit to pursue studies in the area of choice.

UBD Bursary Award (UBD)

The UBD Bursary Award (UBD) is a funding scheme offered by Universiti Brunei Darussalam to Doctor of Philosophy applicants with the vision of providing access and opportunities for life-long learning.

Eligibility

• At least a second class upper honors Bachelor degree and a Master degree or equivalent qualification with publication record from the Master degree.
• Further, Good quality and impactful research proposal.
• Moreover, Fit to pursue studies in the area of choice.

Award

• Waived tuition fees, including registration and acceptance fees at Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
• Also, On-campus accommodation for 36 months.
