Established in 2019, the Waikato Pathways College International High Achiever Progression Bursary aims to encourage talented international students to study at the University of Waikato.
The applicants must meet the following requirements
The Bursary is open to all international students, enrolling in a fulltime undergraduate program, who studied the Certificate of Attainment in Foundation Studies, Certificate of University Preparation. Also, International Diploma (Business) or International Diploma (Science) at Waikato Pathways College in the preceding 12 months.
Additionally, students who achieve an A grade average over their first 60 points (Accelerated Foundation Studies or Certificate of University Preparation) or 120 points (Standard Foundation Studies. Likewise, International Diploma (Business) or International Diploma (Science)) will be automatically eligible for the High Achiever Progression Bursary for their next 120 points.

Additionally, the University of Waikato began in 1956 after Hamilton locals launched a petition for a university to serve the needs of the South Auckland region. Furthermore, the group was led by Douglas Seymour, a barrister, and subsequently Anthony “Rufus” Rogers, a Hamilton GP and brother to long-time Mayor of Hamilton, Denis Rogers.
